Delores Louise Andersen's Obituary
Memorial Service of Remembrance for Delores L. Andersen, 64, of Mott, ND will be Monday, December 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott. Fr. Charles Zins and Rev. David Skjoldahl will officiate. Special music will be provided by Pat Schwartz and Sue Andersen.
Delores Louise Meduna was born on May 4, 1944 in Dickinson, ND to Clement and Emma (Jelik) Meduna. She grew up near Killdeer, ND and attended Sheffield Country School. Delores worked with her family on their farm throughout her younger years.
Delores married James "Jimmy" Mayer on October 28th, 1963 at St. Pius Church in Sheffield. From this union, three children were born. David, Doug, and DeAnn were always her pride and glory in life. They farmed near Gladstone. Jimmy passed away on May 14th, 1975.
Delores met Dale Andersen in 1983. They began their lives together in Dickinson, ND. She and Dale lived in Albert Lea, MN, Joyce, IA, Mapleton, IA, Bison, SD then called Mott, ND their home for the last 10 years.
Delores enjoyed gardening, reading, and baking and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She had a heart of gold and loved to help others. Faith was a very important part of her life. She spent the last several years caring for Dale since his declining health. All that knew her and loved her will miss her dearly.
Delores passed away on Thursday evening, December 18, 2008 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger due to injuries from a fall.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, of Mott; her children, Doug Mayer and DeAnn (Ron) Schmidt, all of Dickinson, ND; step-children, Jeff (Shari) Andersen, David (Sue) Andersen, all of Sidney, MT, Michael (Susan) Andersen, of Anchorage, AK and Brian Andersen, of Sidney, MT; siblings, Ludwig (Edith) Meduna, Georgianne Zastoupil, Leonard (Sandy) Meduna and Larry (Peggy) Meduna, all of the Dickinson, ND area; three grandchildren, Jessica Bergenheier, Kaylee and Kyle Schmidt, all of Dickinson, ND and five step grandchildren, Heath, Eric, Alleah, Allen and Ian Andersen. Delores was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Mayer, her son David Mayer, a brother, Laudie Meduna and a brother-in-law, Martin Zastoupil.
Arrangements are under the guidance of the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott, ND.
