Delmar D. Imhoff, age 67 of Bismarck, formerly of Mott, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 23, 2011 at MedCenter One in Bismarck.


The Funeral Service for Delmar will be held at 1:00pm MT on Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott. Pastor John Amundson will officiate with burial in the Congregational Cemetery at New Leipzig.


Serving as casketbearers are Ron Reich, Randy Reich, Les Haberstroh, and Dennis Boknecht.

DELMAR DUANE IMHOFF was born March 4, 1944 in Elgin, ND to Emil and Lydia (Reich) Imhoff. He attended a one room school house in Solen Township until the fifth grade. He then attended Mott Public School graduating in 1962. Delmar attended Dickinson State College graduating in 1966. In the fall of 1966, he began teaching at the Elgin Public School. He taught Chemistry, Physics, Algebra, and Physical Science. It was his first and last teaching job retiring after 28 years.


Delmar also farmed together with his parents and took over the family farm when his dad retired. Delmar retired from teaching and farming in 1997.


Delmar married Charlene Huether in 1967. Their son Darrell was born in 1968. Delmar married Peggy Tasted in 1985. Their daughter Kristi was born in 1986.


He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Elgin Lions Club for 10 years, and served as Secretary and President. Delmar was a member of the Dickinson Elks Lodge for many years.


In 2001, Delmar suffered a stroke and then moved into The Terrace in Bismarck.


He is survived by his son, Darrell, Bismarck, ND; and daughter, Kristina, all of Minot, ND.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Visitation will be held 1:00 to 5:00pm MT on Sunday at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
