Debra Gay Doerr "Deb" was born to Gene and Virginia Doerr on June 21, 1958 in Hettinger, ND. She attended Lodgepole Grade School and graduated from Hettinger High School in 1976. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music from Mary College in 1980. Following her graduation she returned to Hettinger where she worked for Halvorson's Super Value for awhile. She then began working for ABLE Inc. She worked for ABLE Inc. for the next 25 years.

Debbie had many loves in her life. At the top of her list was her love for the Lord. She also had an incredible love for music. From the time she was a little girl playing songs on the piano, after hearing them on the radio, to receiving formal music training in high school, she loved music. She sang in a country band called Evening Star for a number of years. She loved playing drums for the Hettinger Cowboy Band and also enjoyed the "jam sessions" where she played guitar with Ed and countless others. Many people will remember Debbie for singing at funerals, weddings, and other community events.

Anyone that knew Debbie knew that she loved animals. From the time she was little, Debbie had a natural attraction for animals. She always loved the cats at the house and out on the ranch.

Debbie also had a passionate love for the clients at ABLE Inc. She held their care and well-being at the top of her priority list. She wanted everyone to have a better understanding of the clients by providing the best care possible.

No one will ever forget Debbie's love for nature. She loved planting a big garden and planting all kinds of flowers in her flower beds.

Debbie passed away on July 9, 2010 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident north of Hettinger, ND.

She is survived by the love of her life for 20 years, fiance Ed Quamme, Hettinger, ND; one brother, Dennis Doerr and special friend, Darena Nelson, Amarillo, TX; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Virginia Doerr; and her grandparents, Harry and Viola Doerr and John and Pauline Reiger.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be donated in Debbie's name to the music scholarship at the Hettinger High School.
