Memorial services for Darrel Iverson, age 78, of Meadow, SD, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, SD. Pastor Florence Hoff will officiate.

Darrel LeRoy Iverson was born on September 10, 1939 to Marvin and Ruby Iverson. He grew up on the family farm and helped in the family business "Meadow Corner".

He met his wife Diana Griff (Iverson) in Bowman and they were united in marriage on July 18, 1966, in Rapid City, SD. He traveled as he worked as a custom harvester and construction worker. They settled in Kansas, where two daughters, Becky and Lisa were born.

In the 1990, the family moved to Meadow, SD area were Darrel continued to work as a ranch hand, farmer and other odd jobs until entering 5 Counties Nursing Home in June 2017. Darrel's passion in life was his draft horses and wagons which he continued to enjoy until his health would no longer allow. His fondest memories were at the Trail Ride in Western Kansas where he drove his team, hung out with old friends and reminisced about the old days. His love for mechanics also came in handy, all we had to do was call Dad and ask "why is my car making that squeaky noise" and he would know how to fix whatever was wrong.

He passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2017.

Darrel is survived by his 2 daughters, Beck Iverson (Randy Strain) Cheyenne, WY and Lisa (Ryan) Chaney, Mitchell, NE; two grandchildren, Greisyn and Kreed Chaney; and 2 sisters, Betty Klein and Maxine Wandler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Diana.
