Darleen Beck passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 in Bismarck, with her family at her side.

Darleen was born on January 13, 1939 on a farm north of Burt, ND to her parents, Emil and Mable (Rokusek) Fuchs. She graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1956 and attended Parks School of Business in Denver, CO, where she graduated in 1957.

On September 7, 1958, she married Duane Beck in Elgin, ND. They went on to farm the Beck farmstead northwest of Elgin until 1978. Together they had six boys. Along with raising her boys, Darleen held several jobs throughout her life, including working at the Elgin Hospital and for the Community Action Program.

She had several interests including sewing, cross-stitching, reading, volunteering, and her love of coffee. The first of which was greatly utilized by many family and friends throughout the years. Darleen was blessed with a large family, who were lucky enough to experience her love and kindness. And, although she enjoyed a quiet day in, a visit from family was always welcomed by her. She spent many years living in Bismarck, until recently making her way back to Elgin for a quieter life.

Darleen is survived by five of her six sons, Doug (Sandy), Dean (Tracy), Darnell (Shar), Dan (Shannon), and Darrin (Wendy), 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two brothers and sisters, and numerous extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane, infant son, David, her parents, and one brother and sister.

Darleen had a love for angels and is now, herself, one of God's beautiful angels.

A funeral service for Darleen will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 10:30 MT at Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin, ND. Memorials to be given to Elgin Library and/or Zion Lutheran Church.
