Memorial Service of Remembrance for Colton Seamands, 18, of Spokane, WA will be Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. MT at the Centennial Chapel of Evanson Jensen Funeral Homes, 700 South 2nd Avenue in Hettinger, ND.  Rev. Deb Molbert will officiate.

Colton died at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND on Saturday, July 1, 2023 following a tragic vehicle accident near Hettinger, ND.

Colton's wishes were to be an organ donor and to be cremated.  His family fulfilled his wishes and the gift of life through his donations has been passed along.

How do I pick just a few words to describe this child?  Colton - quick witted, generous, exasperating, loving, questioning, creative, passionate. None is adequate. Colton is special. The youngest of 5, he has 3 brothers and a sister. Colton lived life to the fullest. Always willing to try something new, always fearless. He hunted with his dad. He loved fishing. He loved the water. He chased sunsets. Literally. He took Photos of sunsets and sent them to me. He found the beauty in anything. But his true passion was cooking. From an early age, He knew what worked together. He was turning his passion into a Career. A prep cook at an upscale steakhouse, he was just promoted to Sous Chef. He was starting culinary school in the fall. He was chasing his dreams. This beautiful, chaotic, Promising life has been cut far too short.   From this tragedy Colton has done one last final Selfless act. He wanted to be a donor. To know that he will live on in others is the tiniest of hope for his father and me, for his siblings. Our hope is that the recipients realize not only what a special gift they have received, but what a precious and unique young man is giving them. May the person who receives Colton's heart love with his capacity. May the person who receives Colton's eyes see the beauty in the world that he did. May Anyone receiving a gift from Colton be blessed with his love, his passion and his gifts. God protect our son, our brother, our beautiful boy Colton.
