Clarence Krogh of Regent, passed away Feb 3rd with his loving family by his side
Clarence M. Krogh was born on Aug 2nd,1925 at the family farm to Christ and Marie Krogh with DR. S.W. Hill attending.
Clarence enjoyed growing up on the farm, working with the animals and riding their horse Blaze.
Clarence attended Alden County School through 8th grade and went to Regent High School for two years until the farm boys were needed at home to help their fathers and others during WWII. That's when Clarence decided that he was going to farm. A great thrill was harvest time, all those golden fields of wheat.
Clarence Krogh and Virginia West were married on June 28th ,1948 at the Methodist Church in Mott, ND. There was a small reception held at the Butts hotel by the Richland Ladies Aid. Clarence served on the English Lutheran Church Council now known as Faith Lutheran Church, which he spent many hours helping to build. He also served on the Regent Co-op Store Board and was the treasure for the Alden Township for several years.
One of the many things that Clarence loved was baseball. His position was pitcher, which he had the honor to play with the state champions of ND in 1949; baseball was a big sport in our area.
Horses were a joy for his children; most of the time Clarence would set a time to quit work so all the children would have time to get a horse ride before dinner.
Clarence also owned a TaylorCraft airplane, which he went to Akron, Ohio to purchase new. It came in useful in the tough winters. The postman would bundle up the mail and Clarence would drop it off at the farmsteads around the area. Building remote controlled airplanes was a great joy that his sons and grandsons got to enjoy for years; there were many air shows attended and many planes built together.
Clarence was extra proud of all his grand children and in all of their accomplishments and proud to attend any function that he could attend. He looked forward to Pheasant hunting season, to visit with the hunters and family. May Clarence rest in peace with God after all of his suffering.
