Funeral services for Clara Runner, age 99, of Lemmon will be 1:00pm Friday, April 8, at the Prince Of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. Pastor Ken Miller will officiate with burial in the Watauga Cemetery.


Special music will be provided by Marilyn Willey, organist.


Serving as casket bearers are Craig Shultz, Linda Lindstrom, Tim Farstad, Jim McGregor Jr., Carol Selnes, and Ty Farstad.


Clara Amanda Farstad was born December 12, 1905 at Lidgerwood, ND to Helge and Lena (Moe) Farstad. In 1910, she moved to Watauga, SD with her parents where she lived until she was married to Stanley Runner on June 8, 1926 at McIntosh, SD. After a brief residence in Chicago, the couple made their home in Rapid City. Following Stanley's death in 1956, Clara moved to Lemmon, SD where she has resided since.


Clara dedicated many volunteer years to various charities in Lemmon and will be remembered for her unselfishness, strong work ethics, and dedication to her family.


Clara passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 5, at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.


She is survived by one sister, Grace Stewart, Truman, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, her parents, three sisters, Olga Thompson, Ethel Blow, Agnes Farstad, four brothers, Herbert, Sigward, Arnold, and Raymond Farstad.


A memorial has been established to Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.
