Christopher Michael Mace was born December 12, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the son of Luther and Pamela (Dressler) Mace. Chris attended school in Henderson NV and in 1990 he moved with his family to Belle Fourche. Chris attended high school in Sundance and also in Buffalo.

In 1997 Chris was married to Tonya Anderson in Belle Fourche. Following their marriage they continued living in Belle Fourche while Chris worked as a ranch hand for area ranchers.

Chris enjoyed helping people and he was a good welder as well. He enjoyed his work and for a couple seasons, he rode bulls in area rodeos. He also liked to play golf. Most of all, Chris enjoyed being a dad. He loved his boy C.J. and spent lots of time with him. They both really had a lot of fun during Halloween, trick or treating together and entering the costume parade, downtown Belle Fourche. Chris was a special father to his boys, and very proud of them. He will be missed so much by them and his wife, whom he would often say "May I keep you?"

Chris is survived by his wife, Tonya and their boys Hazer Douglas and C.J. all of Belle Fourche; parents, Luther and Pamela Mace of Belle Fourche; brother, David (Maria) Mace of Wright WY; sisters, RaeAnne (Paul) Brenneise of Eaglewood, Florida; Ronnie (Warren) Shinabarger of Buffalo; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Dedmon of Bison; and several aunt, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
