Charles Candrian, age 90, of Regent, ND, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND.

A rosary/vigil service for Charles will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Regent, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial for Charles will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Regent, ND, with burial to follow in the Regent Cemetery.   Fr. Chris Kadrmas will officiate.

Charles Jacob Candrian, age 90 of Regent, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024 at the West River Health Center in Hettinger, ND.
Charles was born September 28, 1933 to Joseph and Mary (Gion) Candrian at the family farm. He attended elementary school at St. Mary's Catholic School in New England and graduated high school from the Assumption Abbey in Richardton, ND.  After high school, he served in the Army for two years and then returned to the family farm to help his father.

On October 11, 1958, Charles was united in marriage to Lorraine Senftner in McLaughlin, SD. They took over the Candrian family farm and made their home there for 40 years before retiring and moving into Regent.

Charles served on the Regent Equity Board, Southwest Grain Board, Regent School Board, St. Henry's Parish Council, Farina Township Board and was a volunteer ambulance driver. Some of the activities he enjoyed in his younger adult years were basketball and baseball. Later on, hunting, fishing, ice fishing, pool league and cards were activities he enjoyed. He loved singing in the St. Henry's Church choir and community cantatas.

Charles is survived by his children, Curt (Lori) Candrian, Alvin, TX; Terry (Robin) Candrian, Colstrip, MT; Paula (Michael) Pecenka, Mitchell, SD; Robert (Lisa) Candrian, Regent, ND; grandchildren, Carter and Angelle Candrian, Samantha and Nathan Jackson; Joe Candrian and fiancee' Melissa, Justin Candrian, Terra Candrian; Jacob and Cassandra Pecenka, Daniel Pecenka and fiance' Breanna; Jonah and Caleb Candrian. He was also blessed with four great grandchildren, Zoey and Ellie Pecenka; Charlie and Luke Candrian. He also has one surviving brother, Bernard Candrian, Bismarck, ND; and brothers in law; Mike Sullivan, Hibbing, MN; Ron Schoch, Bismarck, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine; sisters; Delores Schoch, Josephine Sullivan, and Eleanor Candrian and a younger brother, Donald Candrian.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
