The Memorial Service for Bonnie Opitz, age 76 of Lemmon will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon with Florence Hoff, officiating. A potluck dinner will be held at the Wild Oats Restaurant.

BONNIE LOU MITCHELL was born on April 7, 1945 in Wilhelmina, OR to Hank and Leona Mitchell.

Bonnie operated a salvage yard in Rapid City from 1975 to 1992 when she moved to Lemmon.  In Lemmon she worked as a server at The Busted T Café for several years.  She had also worked at the Ben Franklin, Senior Center, The Lemmon IGA Grocery Store, the Pit Stop, and cleaned houses for various people around Lemmon throughout the years.

She was diagnosed with cancer in 2016.  She beat the cancer 3 times.  She was living with her daughter, Jody until January 19, 2022 when she was admitted and later passed away at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND on February 2, 2022.

Bonnie lives on by her children, Gary Dean of Worland, WY; Theresa James of South Dakota, Jody Smolinski of Lemmon, SD; Tina High Horse of Lemmon, SD; and Wesley Opitz of Bismarck, ND; and her 15 grandchildren.
