Blake Andrew Huber was born on December 11, 1992 in Hettinger, ND to Clyde and Jayne (Merkel) Huber. He attended grade school in McIntosh and Dupree, and high school in McIntosh and Lemmon.
For the first nine years of his life he lived at the Arnold Bros. Arrow Five Ranch south of McIntosh with his parents, brother Jeremy and sister Kristen. As a feisty youngster he showed interest in the mechanics of how things worked. If it had an engine, he tried to drive it, and usually succeeded whether anyone was around or not. He loved following his Dad around the ranch trying to do what Dad was doing. He picked up many of his Dad's mechanical abilities. From there his love of vehicles and stereo sound systems grew. He also competed in several Stereo Sound competitions. He was especially fond of Honda cars and anything with a powerful stereo system. As most local people knew, he didn't settle for quiet muffler.
Following his schooling, Blake held various jobs in North and South Dakota. In North Dakota he worked for Wildcat, Bruno's Pizza, Heer Bros. Ranch, and a fracking plant in the Garrison/New Town area. He moved back to South Dakota and worked part time at the Arnold Bros. Ranch. Blake was most recently working in McLaughlin at the Dallas Schott Ranch.
Blake never got over the loss of his Dad and was elated when he purchased the "blue farm pickup" from Landon Arnold that his Dad drove while working for Arnold Bros. It was also the pickup in which his Dad taught him to drive. He continuously worked on the 1972 Chevy Stepside pickup and the Yamaha motorcycle his dad owned; which he got running after setting idle for several years. He was a frequent visitor of every pawn shop in the area and loved buying, selling, and trading things.
He became a member of the First Presbyterian Church on April 20, 2008. Blake passed from this life on Saturday evening, August 19, 2017 from injuries in an automobile accident north of McIntosh, SD at age of 24 years, 8 months, and 8 days.
Surviving family members include his daughters, Abby and Ava; his mother, Jayne Huber, (special friend, Doug Miller), McIntosh, SD; sister, Kristen Huber (Chris Oakes) Banner, WY; brother, Jeremy Huber, Cockeysville, MD; his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Merkel, Rapid City, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
