Beverly Ann Bail came into the world on April 9, 1937. She was born to Bertha Lindquist (Lillegaard) and Arthur Lindquist with the assistance of a midwife, at the family farm south of Keldron S D. Beverly was the first of six children. She attended the Moe Country school until 9 th grade when she moved to Lemmon to finish high school, graduating in 1955. She went on to Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD and got a teaching certificate. She received her bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University in MN in 1983, then went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from the University of MN Law School in 1988. Beverly and Marvin valued higher education. Learning was a lifetime love of theirs, and one Beverly continued to pursue in various ways her entire life.
Beverly met the love of her life, Marvin Bail, while in high school and waited for him through his two years in the Army. They were married on March 3, 1956 when she was 19 and remained together until he died after almost 64 years of marriage in May of 2020. Marvin was a mechanical engineer and his career led them to Milwaukee, WI, with their two boys Harold (Gene) and Daryl. Their daughter Sheryl was born in Milwaukee. In 1966, a change of job led them to Roseville, MN. Then in 1977, a change of job led them to a hobby farm Avon, MN. In September 1978, Marvin's job led them to Switzerland where he, Beverly, and Sheryl lived for 6 months. After returning to Avon, a return to Marvin's former employer took them back to Roseville in 1983. In 1998, after Marvin's retirement, they purchased Marvin's uncle's (George Bail) farm south of McIntosh SD. That became their farm and fair-weather home while they wintered in Roseville, MN. Between homes, they loved traveling to see family and friends, especially if they got to take a grandchild or two along in their travels. Grandma could always keep the grandchildren entertained with stories of her own childhood, and the childhood of her dear, but sometimes "rascally" children. In 2018 they moved to Owatonna, MN where they lived out their lives, following Beverly's desire to live somewhere offering regular socializing and a comfortable place to connect by phone with family and friends.
Beverly adored her family and friends. The ones that her family cared about automatically became her family as well. She always took interest in what was going on in each of her loved one's life, and she was the person everyone contacted when they needed to know the date of something or needed the recollection of a certain event. Her memory was phenomenal. Beverly and Marvin were rarely empty nesters; as children, grandchildren, nieces, family friends and students needing housing would circle in and out of their home. The openness of their physical home was a true reflection to the openness of her heart.
Beverly was a committed Christian who worked as a teacher, homemaker, attorney, mediator, tax preparer at various times through her life including volunteering in her church and community. She and Marvin were active members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Roseville, MN. One of her joys was teaching adult Bethel series along with attendance at women's bible studies (Circle), LCW functions and singing in the choir. She traveled to Israel to learn of the Holy land first hand. Relocations throughout her adult life brought her into many Lutheran congregations where she shared her gifts of teaching and leadership in many ways. Most importantly to her family and friends she modeled her faith, sharing her skills and gifts unselfishly with all who had need.
Survivors include two sons, Harold (Marlys) Bail of Roseville, Mich., and Daryl (Pamela) Bail of Owatonna, MN, daughter, Sheryl (Greg) Tiburzi of Duluth MN, 8 grandchildren; Josie (Tad) Budke, Steven (Kelsey) Bail, Frannie (Jordan) Wiersma, Michael (Sara) Bail, Andrew Bail, Amanda Bail, Jon Tiburzi and Joel Tiburzi, and 7 great-grandchildren; Dakota and Alexa Budke, Sawyer and Millie Jo Bail, Lucas, Elijah and Nolan Wiersma. She has three surviving siblings, Sylvia Engle of Hettinger N D, Shirley Dreiske of Lemmon SD and Audrey Kirkpatrick of Milan, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers: Myron and Duane Lindquist. Casket bearers, grandsons, will be Steven Bail, Michael Bail, Andrew Bail, Jon Tiburzi, Joel Tiburzi and special nephew Kenneth Bail.
Beverly passed away before we were prepared to lose her, on the morning of February 5, 2021. She was ushered into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, having applied her hand to the plow so that those that knew her would taste of her Savior's unconditional love. Her life is not ended as her earthly body reached its limit, only transformed to an eternal body that one day, sooner than we can imagine, we will see again. The delight that we all experienced when connecting with her in this world will pale in comparison to the joy that we will know on that day as she welcomes us to join her at the marriage feast of the Lamb. Until that time, her love will continue to impact all she touched and the admonition that she lived by, (you are blessed to be a blessing) will ring in our ears.
