Bertha Sprenger, age 92, of Elgin, ND passed away on Sunday evening, May 3, 2015 at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Hope Congregational Cemetery in Elgin, ND.

Bertha Sprenger was born on November 26, 1922 in Elgin, ND, to Christian and Martha (Schaible) Sprenger. She attended school in Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School. Following her schooling, she taught country school in the Antelope School District north of Elgin.

Bertha took care of her parents and following their death, moved to Harrison, AK where she worked as a book editor for a publishing company. In 2007 she moved back to Elgin to be closer to her family. She was a resident of Maple View in Bismarck for that last few years before moving to Hettinger, ND.

She is survived by one brother, Allen (Elfriede) Sprenger, Elgin, ND; one sister, Gertrude Jacobs, Dickinson, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Oscar, Solomon, twins Ray and Edger, Dan, Reiny, Leslie and Ernest; sisters, Emma and twins Elsie and Grace.
