Bernie L. Bliss, age 53 of McIntosh, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Avera McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

BERNIE LOWELLEN BLISS was born on April 26, 1961 in Corning, New York. He was a son of the late Bernard and Mildred V. (Cornelius) Bliss. He attended school in Mansfield, PA and Galeton, PA and worked at various jobs. He travelled extensively until settling in Oregon near his brother Gary. Bernie worked in a lumber yard and on a seismograph crew. In 2006, he moved with his family to McIntosh where he has continued to live since.

He loved visiting with people and playing cards and enjoyed music, and playing the guitar and harmonica.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan M. (Jan) Widnikiewicz of Galeton, PA; three sons: Bernie J. Bliss of Galeton, PA, Justin A. Button of Galeton, PA, Gregory Bliss of McIntosh, SD; twelve grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Hanson of Bradford, PA, Tina M. Krouse of Bradford, PA, Midge Brewer of Tennessee; three brothers, Ronald T. Bliss of Bradford, PA, Daniel Bliss of Bradford, PA, James L. Bliss of North Bingham, PA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bernie was predeceased by two brothers, Gary Bliss and Guy C. Bliss.

There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
