The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mott with Pastor John Amundson officiating.   Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service on Wednesday morning at the church.

All of Bernice's grandchildren and great grandchildren are honorary bearers.

Bernice LaVern Huether was born July 17, 1932 to Max and Amelia (Sprecher) Hirsch in the home of her grandparents Frank and Monica Hirsch on the Hirsch Homestead northeast of Mott, ND.  She was the first born of two children, her brother Roger was born on July 3, 1936.

Bernice spoke only German during her younger years, so upon starting school at Mott Public she had to learn English.

On December 4, 1949, she was united in marriage to Arthur Huether at the American Lutheran Church in Mott.  To this union were born five children, Burnell, Paulette, Sharon, Mark and David.  They lived in Mott for a short time before moving to their farm south of Mott.  In 1956, they moved to Renton, WA for a short time but returned back to the farm.  In 1966, they moved into Mott so her children could attend school there.  Later in 1970, mom and dad built their new home in Mott.

Mother was a classy lady and always loved entertaining her family and friends.  Her welcoming hugs were a greeting to all.  She felt family needed to get together to know each other.  You could always be sure there was a well cooked meal on the table made with produce from her garden.

Mom loved being entertained by the activities her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were involved in.  Whether it be a birthday party or a sporting event, she was there enjoying every minute.

In her years on the farm you would find her butchering chickens for meat in the freezer, growing and canning produce from her garden or helping dad with the cattle or driving the grain truck along with raising and caring for her five children.  In her early years, she sewed clothing for her children and in her later years she loved to make fleece blankets for her family.  While taking their trips to Arizona she made many ceramic pieces and crafts which she shared with family.

Mom loved to decorate her home for the seasons and enjoyed the color and beauty of her flowers around her home.  She enjoyed traveling to visit relatives and their winter trips to Arizona.  One year she rode a train to Oregon with friends to visit some of her relatives.  She was always up for an adventure.

Mother was very dedicated to her church where she was a member her entire life.  She was in charge of organizing meals for funerals, on the church council and would not miss her Sunday morning Bible study or Ladies Bible circle.  Mother loved to read, whether it be words from her Lord and Savior or a good book.  She always asked God to bless her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She prayed for and loved each and every one of them. Mom passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at her home in Mott with her children by her side.

She leaves behind 3 sons and daughter-in-law, Burnell and Linda Huether, Mott, ND; Mark Huether, Underwood, ND, David Huether, Dickinson, ND; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Jerry Fero, Meadow, SD; Sharon and Delmar Schaible, Mott, ND; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one  brother, Roger Hirsch, Dickinson, ND and special friend Rose Ward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Huether, her parents, and her grandson, Christopher Schaible.
