Bernard Joseph Candrian, age 92 devoted husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa went peacefully to be with his loving wife and our Lord and Savior on January 3, 2025.

Bernard was born on September 5, 1932 in Regent, North Dakota to Joseph and Mary (Gion) Candrian on the family farm. He was the eldest of six children. He graduated from the Assumption Abbey in Richardton, North Dakota in 1951. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Bernard met the love of his life, Pauline Schoch at a baseball game. On September 1, 1955 they were united in marriage. They made their home on their farm in Regent North Dakota where they raised eight children.

Family, farming, gardening, music and faith were integral parts of Bernard's life. He cherished time with family and friends. Many hours were spent milking cows and harvesting wheat and vegetables. He enjoyed planting his flower gardens which many people came to admire. When it came to music he played the trumpet and guitar, directed the St. Henry's choir, and was often heard singing or humming a tune. He never missed attending Mass or saying his daily prayers, reading scriptures or praying the rosary. He enjoyed his life on the farm until the young age of 90 when he decided it was time to let a new family enjoy it. He then moved to Bismarck, North Dakota to the Benedictine Living Community - St. Gabriel's Assisted Living.
