Benjamin Joel Greff, 10 month old son of Lucas and Angela Greff, passed away at his home on Thursday morning, January 18, 2024, north of Mott, ND.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Regent, ND. Private family burial will follow in the St. Michael's Cemetery north of Mott, ND.
Benajmin Joel Greff was born on March 6th, 2023, to Lucas and Angela Greff. From the beginning he was a light to both the lives of his parents and to his six siblings. Having a baby in the house always causes excitement and each sibling tried their best to undermine their parents in spoiling Benjamin any chance they got. As a member of a bustling household, he was constantly entertained and entertaining his siblings and parents. He continued to develop and grow as a normal child until his parents suspected that he was lacking in certain milestones for development. After two separate trips to the Minneapolis Children's Hospital in August and September he was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disease called Krabbe Disease that prevented his brain from breaking down white matter. This caused him to regress in both motor and cognitive functions until each respective major function shut down over the past five months. Once we received the diagnosis and knew we had a limited time left with Benjamin we spent even more time with him as his journey in this life came to an end. We were fortunate to have him stay home the entire time and through the Christmas season, so he was able to experience all the joy of a large family holiday and have a picture taken with Santa Claus.
Benjamin Joel Greff will forever be missed by his Parents, Siblings, and all of his immediate family but his life was not without purpose. He showed us how precious life is, how each moment matters, and that you can always lean on family for support.
Benajmin is survived by his Parents, Lucas and Angela, His siblings Samantha, Michael, Simon, Jessica, Jacob, and Matthew, his Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins. Benajmin was preceded in death by his infant brother John Victor Greff.
