Barbara Jahner was born in Sheffield, ND on February 2, 1924 to Ralph and Eleanor (Heidt) Jahner. Barb was the second oldest of 11 children. She attended school in New England. She spent many days baking bread and cookies and tending to the household chores.
Barb was united in marriage to Joseph Reisenauer on November 3, 1943 in New England, ND. Barb and Joe were Blest with 11 children. Barb's greatest joy was spending time with family. She was very dedicated to her husband throughout 69 years of marriage. She had a special love for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and sons/daughters in-law. Her children would always tease her and tell her she took better care of the ""outlaws"" than she did them. She knew all the special foods that each child and in-law liked, and their special dishes were always there waiting as they arrived for their much anticipated visits. Barb truly loved to have visitors. There were always baked goods and coffee waiting for anyone that came, along with a plate to take home. Christmas was a special time for years. Barb spent the season baking and making plates of goodies for neighbors, children and anyone who happened to visit her home.

Joe and Barb lived many years in Lemmon, SD where they raised their family and enjoyed playing pinochle with friends and neighbors. After many years, they moved to Mott, ND. Barb took a job cooking at St. Vincent's Catholic School. Barb not only had a reputation as being one of the best cooks in the county, but also as a ""mom"" to all the students of St. Vincent's. She enjoyed her time cooking and never used boxed foods, always making all of the meals from scratch. She enjoyed coloring Easter eggs and making Christmas cookies for all her children at the school. Barb was active in Altar Society and other functions at St Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott. For the last 3 ½ years, Barb has been a resident at St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck, ND. She spent this summer traveling and visiting children, sisters, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She passed away at St. Vincent's Care Center on Friday, September 6, 2013.

Barb is survived by 10 children, Joseph (Susie) Reisenauer, Jacksonville Beach, FL; Dorrie (Tony) Binstock, Sun City West, AZ; Mary (Bob) Pavlicek, Sturgis, SD; Charles (Jane) Reisenauer, Hettinger, ND; Jerry (Donna) Reisenauer, Bison, SD; Barb (Harlan) Schnell, Vale, SD; Carla (Steve) Gerriets, Bismarck, ND; Jeff (Wanda) Reisenauer, Moorhead, MN; Tim (Christi) Reisenauer, Great Falls, MT; Laurie (David) Hauck, Richardson, ND; and daughter-in-law, Edie (Bob) Nesland, Rapid City, SD; 37 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Eleanor Wright, Sturgis, SD, and Mary (Burt) Nehl, Lemmon, SD.
