ARON FRANCIS SCHEELER was born on June 27, 1946 in Dickinson, ND to Frank and Anna (Roshau) Scheeler. He graduated from Dickinson Central High School in 1964. Aron began working for the Peavy Elevator in Dickinson. He was united in marriage to Josephine Olheiser on June 21, 1967 in Dickinson.
On January 3, 1967, Aron enlisted into the U.S. Army National Guard and was discharged on November 2, 1971. In 1973, Aron and Jo moved to Mott where Aron continued working for Remsing Grain-Mott Equity. In 1994, he began driving school bus which he did for 20 years. He also worked at Larry's Meat Market from 1995 to 2012 when he retired, and for Fitterer Oil.
Aron was loyal to his friends, family, and community. He was a simple man and always found the good in everyone he met. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and grandsons, gardening, playing cards, reading western books and watching western movies. He was a member of the Mott Fire Brigade where he was past Fire Chief and Fire Marshal. He briefly served on the Mott Ambulance Service but due to his employment obligations he was unable to continue certification training. He was a member of the Mott City Council for over 25 years and the Taylor-Skartvedt American Legion Post.
His illness came suddenly, but he was determined to fight. He never complained and kept his sense of humor. When asked by the staff at the hospital if there was anything they could do for him, he would respond, ""Take care of my wife."" When a rushed surgery was scheduled, he would not allow them to take him until all of his daughters arrived. He was also comforted by all his grandchildren.
Aron, with his wife by his side, took his last breath and peacefully was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.
