ARLO JANICE LUTZ was born in Mott, ND on April 9, 1937 to Phillip and Katherine (Keller) Lutz.  She was raised on the family farm 5 miles north of Mott with her older siblings Bob and Rita.   As a young girl she attended St. Vincent's Catholic School and graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1955.  She married George Jones on October 23, 1956 in Mott.  Arlo and George began their life together in Wolf Point, MT.  They lived there for a short time before moving to Sydney, MT, and then settling in Riverton, WY where their daughter Terryl, and son Shawn were born.  Arlo attended to her family while George worked for Frontier Airlines as a Ticket Agent. When George became an Air Traffic Controller they moved to Great Falls, MT, where their son, Darrin was born.   From Montana they moved to Alaska where they spent time in Fairbanks before making a permanent home in Anchorage, remaining there for 17 years. During her time in Anchorage, Arlo worked for the Civil Service while also raising her family.

In December of 1981, they moved back to Mott and began a new venture in life called "George's Office", a local pub on Main Street.  They acquired many new friends from many new places.  Arlo was always a friendly face to anyone who passed through their doors.  In 2000 they sold the bar and began their retirement together.

Arlo's joys in life included sewing, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and spending any extra time she had with family and friends.  She had a beautiful singing voice and was a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughter's of America (CDA), and served on the Hettinger County Social Services Board.

Arlo left us to be with her family in heaven on the morning of Sunday, March 3, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

Her passion in life was her family which included her husband of 62 years, George, Mott, ND; daughter, Terryl (Dale) Friedt, Mott, ND; son Shawn (Kathy) Jones, Anchorage, AK; 3 grandchildren, Nick (Jacey) Friedt and their children Isabelle, Aliyah, and Easton; Tyler (Erika) Jones and their children Abigail and Colby; Dylan (fiancé Jordyn) Jones and daughter Declyn; and sister Rita (Vince) Barth, Hebron, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Katherine (Keller) Lutz, son Darrin Jones, and brother and sister-in-law Bob and Hilda Lutz.
