Anita Hoffman, age 98 of New Leipzig, ND passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center in Elgin, ND.


The Memorial Service will be on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin. Pastor John Amundson will officiate with burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New Leipzig, ND.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Anita Irene Grade was born on January 29, 1919 in rural Grant County to Emmanuel and Ida (Reimann) Grade. She married Albert Hoffman in June of 1939 and together they farmed 3 miles southeast of Bentley, ND. Anita and Albert enjoyed going to dances on Saturday nights at the dance halls in Burt and New Leipzig. After Albert's passing in 1988, Anita moved to New Leipzig, and in 2012 she entered Dakota Hills Living Center.

She enjoyed doing word searches, collecting bears, loved cookies and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups, and liked having her hair done.

Grateful for sharing in her life are her son, Jerry (Diane) Hoffman, New Leipzig, ND; and daughter, Darlene Hintz, Aberdeen, SD; grandchildren, Bruce (Cherie) Hintz, Gregg (Betsey) Hintz, Jason (Lynn) Hoffman, Nicole (Terry) Bentz; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Sydney, Alexis, Ethan, Delaney, Alyssa, and Brooke.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, one brother Reno, and one sister Edna.
