Service of Remembrance for Amy (Lewton) Shape, 33, of Litchville, ND and formerly of the Bison, SD area will be Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bentley Memorial Building in Bison, SD. Rev. Tera Kossow will officiate and following a time of lunch and fellowship, burial will be at the Prairie City Cemetery, west of Prairie City, SD. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Funeral on Friday morning at the Bentley Building in Bison.

There will also be a Gathering in Celebration of Amy's life on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Community Center in Litchville, ND at 5:00 p.m. CT

Amy Nicole Lewton was born December 29, 1983 in Hettinger, ND to Doug & Karla (Nelson) Lewton of Bison, SD.

Amy spent her childhood among friends and family in the Bison area and graduated Bison High School as Valedictorian in 2002. After graduation, Amy continued her education at UND in Grand Forks, ND. A brief marriage to Wes Parkhurst of Gilby, ND, while studying at UND, she was blessed with a son Camden Louis Parkhurst and went on to graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology and a Minor in Business Management in 2007.
While working at a computer systems company in Valley City, ND she traveled all over the US helping large companies with their computer systems, one of them was being the Dept. of Homeland Security in Tennessee. Between her work and travels she met and married Geoff Shape of Litchville, ND where they set up home. While at home she completed her education with a Masters Degree.

Amy was offered and accepted a new job as Information Systems Manager at the North Dakota State Hospital where she continued her work until her last days.

Amy enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing, and recently attempting bow hunting. She loved music and attended numerous concerts starting from a young age. She loved motorcycle rides and just recently learned to ride her own. She rarely missed the Sturgis Rally for a gathering of friends and more concerts. Gardening & cooking occupied her time at home along with spending time and going to activities to watch her son Camden. Her live life to the fullest attitude and contagious smile always lightened the room.

Amy passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Surviving family members include husband Geoff Shape, Litchville, ND, son Camden Parkhurst, Litchville, ND, parents Douglas & Karla Lewton, Bison, SD, 3 grandparents Dennis & Alberta Lewton, Bison, SD, Audrey Nelson, Fargo, ND and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Amy was preceded in death by two sisters, Andrea and Ashley Lewton, one grandfather Norval Nelson, her great grandparents Virgil & Cora Edgar, Art & Margaret Nelson and Hassel & Bertina Thingelstad.
