Funeral services for Alvin Maier, 73, life long Mott, ND area Farmer, will be Tuesday, September 5th, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Mott, ND. Rev. John Amundson will officiate and burial will follow at the Neuburg Cemetery, north of Mott.

ALVIN MAIER was born on April 25th, 1933 on the family farm northeast of Mott, ND to Philip and Lydia (Klein) Maier. He grew up there and attended country school. Alvin met Diana Baesler and they were united in marriage on June 29, 1958. Together they lived and farmed on the family place for 35 years. Alvin later worked for area farmers including the Hertz farms and also did carpentry work. He loved tinkering in his garage on whatever he could find.

Alvin Maier passed away at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND on August 31, 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Diana, of Mott; four sons, Lynn (Cheri) Maier, Lyle Maier, all of Gayville, SD, Larry Maier, of Sioux Falls, SD and Jerry (Rachel) Maier, of Moorehead, MN; daughter, Bonnie (Robert) Killough, of Hettinger, ND; six grandchildren, Misti, Heather, Lexi, Hope, Justin and Nolan; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Maier, of Bismarck, ND and John Maier, of New Leipzig, ND; two sisters, Leona (Leo) Baesler and Alvina (Corvin) Kautz, all of New Leipzig, ND and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Alvin in death were his parents, four sisters, Hilda, Lydia, Martha and Alma.
