ALMA L. ROSIN was born July 23, 1923 at Elgin, ND to Andrew and Lydia (Nantt) Rosin. She grew up on her parent's farm 12 miles southeast of Elgin and attended a country school through grade eight one mile southwest of her parent's farm. In the fall of 1938, she attended Elgin High School and graduated with the class of 1942. She attended nurses training at the Bismarck Hospital. Alma worked in the Elgin Hospital until she became a farmer's wife. She was united in marriage to Fred C. Martel on June 3, 1944 at Elgin.
