ALLEYNE ANNA ANDERSON was born on May 30, 1919 to Anon and Sophia (Geertgens) Anderson in Bowman County, ND. She spent her childhood on a farm south of Scranton, ND. Her first eight years of education were in a one room school house in Goodyear Township in Bowman. She graduated from Hettinger High School in 1937 and attended Dickinson State Teacher's College. Alleyne taught school for two years near Burt, ND, and two years near Rhame, ND.

In 1945 Joe and Alleyne returned to Hettinger after spending two and a half years with the Army Air Corp in Fort Marmouth, NJ. While in Hettinger they lived on a farm west of town where they raised livestock, farmed grain, and every year planted a huge garden. Alleyne loved to can the produce from her garden, and she loved her flowers.
After Joe and Alleyne sold the farm they moved into town. Alleyne worked at the Hettinger Public Schools in the school lunch program, at the Erlandson Library, and volunteered at the Clothes Closet. She continued to garden and she and Joe spent quality time with their pug dog Muffin. Hettinger remained their home until 2010 when they moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Bismarck, ND.
Alleyne was a member of the Hettinger Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School, and was involved with her church Circle. She also liked quilting and being in the Homemakers Club. She remained active at the Good Samaritan Home playing cards, BINGO, doing word search puzzles, and bird watching.
