Allan L. Swenson, age 86 of Hettinger, passed away on Saturday morning, August 21, 2021 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND.

Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am MT on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Wolff Butte Cemetery north of Bucyrus, ND with Pastor Deb Molbert, officiating.

Following the Graveside Memorial Service at the cemetery, a time of fellowship and luncheon will be held in the Bucyrus Lutheran Church.

Allan Lavern Swenson was born October 25th, 1934 to Swen J. and Dora B. (Hays) Swenson on a farm in Adams County, North Dakota. He graduated from Bucyrus, ND High School in 1952.

After high school, Allan started work in the oilfields, where he would remain until his retirement.

On May 2nd, 1955, Allan was united in marriage to Genevieve "Jennie" Nelson. Three children were born to this union, Brian, Naomi, and Chad.

He loved fishing, hunting arrowheads, and having coffee with his friends. He loved his family, but his wife was the light of his life.

Allan is survived by his three children, son Brian (Laurie) Swenson, Vernal, Utah,    daughter, Naomi (Greg) Burbach, Glendive, MT, and son Chad (Andrea) Swenson, Hettinger, ND; four grandchildren, Taylor (Ashley) Burbach, Amanda (Bobby) Hopper, Jordan (Jenna) Burbach, and Kali Swenson; seven great grandchildren, Kora and Kinlee Burbach, Mason, Charley, and Finley Hopper, and Hudson and Lennox Burbach; one sister, Hazel, of Peoria, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Jennie.
