Alice Lillian Nerison was born to Albert and Louise (Jorgenson) Nerison on July 25, 1925 in a home in Morristown, SD. She was raised on the farm/ranch north of Morristown, where she attended Wheeler School. Later she attended high school at Carson & Elgin ND.

On Sept. 19, 1944, she married James "Athol" Meade at Morristown, SD. They continued to live on a ranch/farm north of Morristown, where they raised their four children. They moved to Lemmon, SD, in 1965 where Athol managed the Case Dealership, and Alice worked a variety of jobs, including the Fabric Shop, Riddles Jewelry, Wheelers Manufacturing, the Live Center and the Lemmon Nutrition Site.

Alice enjoyed life and treasured her friends and family. She was always ready to go for a drive with friends, fishing, for a ride on the back of a motorcycle, out for a meal or even an occasionally buggy ride. She loved to travel to visit friends and family, but she also loved to have people stop by for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Over the years, the people that gathered around her table came from every walk of life. On almost any day you could find someone who had stopped in to say a quick hello or came for a long visit. When people left Alice's company they often said that she had made them smile, laugh and just enjoy life.

Of all the things that Alice loved, dancing brought her the greatest pleasure. Almost every weekend could find her in Bismarck, Dickinson, McLaughlin, or at a dance somewhere. She taught her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews how to dance. She included everyone on her list of candidates for dance instructions. She just couldn't stand to have anyone sitting still when music was playing.

Alice also greatly loved her family. We are sure that many people had to listen patiently to hours of stories about her children and grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Jeanette Meade, Pierre, SD; Janice Even (Alan Alexander), Green River, WY; Lynn and Janell Meade, Minot, ND; Ray Meade Lemmon, SD; 10 grandchildren, 1 sister, Marie Sabin, Morristown, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on October 24, 1983, 4 brothers, Ole, John, Trygve Olson; Norman Nierson, 2 sisters, Isabel Shields and Emma Solseth.
