ALICE MARIE HEINITZ was born February 18, 1933, in Sioux County, ND, to Jacob and Hulda (Uttke) Heinitz. She grew up on a farm north of Morristown and attended school in Morristown. Alice attended high school in Lemmon, graduating with the Class of 1951. She was employed at Bell Telephone as a telephone switchboard operator. Alice was united in marriage to John M. Froelich, Sr., on February 20, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon. The Froelich's farmed together west of Lemmon where they raised their family of seven sons and two daughters. Over the course of her life, Alice lovingly hand-stitched hundreds of homemade quilts that her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren now cherish.
