Alex "Hoss" Schriock, 52, was born on August 22, 1970, to Alan and Theresa (Volk) Schriock in Carson, ND, where he likewise lived and raised his family for the majority of his life.

Hoss was a man of great humor and had a deep love for his family. He will always be remembered for his witty grin, contagious laugh, and ability to tell stories. Hoss could only be labeled as one of life's true God given "characters".

He enjoyed all the different communal aspects of life; he loved going to bull sales, enjoyed watching his family partipate in sports and extra curriculur activities, and was always someone who was ready to sit and talk with you for hours.

Giving his whole self in service to his family and local community,  Hoss worked in various professions throughout his life which included ranching (he was always a good cowman to have around when working cattle), youth correctional services (in locations which included Black Hills Children's Home Society in Rapid City, SD; Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility in Miles City, MT; and Prairie Learning Center in St. Gertrude, ND), and spent his last years working as a drug rehabilitation resident specialist at Prairie Recovery Center in St. Gertrude. Through his years of work, nothing was more clear than Hoss having a God given gift to touch the lives of everyone he met and change their hearts forever.

Hoss passed away at home on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 in Carson, ND.

He was preceeded in death by his father, Alan Schriock; and his grandparents Alex & Martha (Fliehmann) Schriock, and Elias & Katherine (Winters) Volk.

He is survived by his sons, Blane & Logan; his former wife, Amy; his mother, Theresa; his sisters, Cherie (Alton) Zenker, Valerie (Peter) Reis, Tracy (Jay) Larson, and Sarah Fineout; his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and friends too numerous to be counted.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, October 31st, 2022 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Carson, ND.

The Rosary Service for Hoss will be held at 10:00am MT, followed by the Service of Christian Burial at 10:30am MT, all on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carson.

Fr Biju Antony will officiate with burial in the Emmaus Cemetery north of Carson.  A time of fellowship and luncheon will be held at the Rock Ridge on Main Street.

Serving as casketbearers are his nephews Peter Reis, Brett, Steven, and Tony Zenker, Devon, Rilie, and Garret Larson.  All of Hoss's friends and family are considered honorary bearers.
