Alex E. Burr, age 72 of Elgin, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 20, 2021 at the Jacobson Memorial Hospital in Elgin, ND.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:30am MT, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Elgin with Deacon Deb Cantrell.  Friends and Family will gather for a luncheon at Seib's Sports Bar .

Alexander (Alex) Edward Talavera was born March 15, 1948 at Santa Ana, California to Alexander and Yvonne (Hannaman) Talavera of San Jacinto, California.  He was later adopted by his stepfather, Harry E Burr Jr.

Alex attended school in California and went on with 5 years of apprenticeship as a Steamfitter.  He served his apprenticeship with the Local 342 of the United Association and worked as a Journeyman Steamfitter for 44 years from 1974 to 2018.

Alex loved a good game of poker or Texas Holdem.  He even taught children how to play poker using checker chips while babysitting for friends. Alex was a BIG Teddy Bear and was always willing to help even if he physically couldn't.  He was always there to listen.

Alex suffered from COPD for many years from asbestos poisoning from being a Steamfitter.

He survived by a daughter, Rachelle Vigil, Bismarck ND; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; one sister; Friends and Caretakers, Shawn and Stephanie Lince and their daughter, Chelsey Lince.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and services are pending.
