Memorial service for Alan L. Burrer, 71, of Prairie City, SD will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Centennial Chapel of Evanson Jensen Funeral Homes in Hettinger, ND.

Alan passed away on February 26, 2017, at his home in Prairie City, South Dakota. Per Alan's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Alan was born August 6, 1945 to John and Anna M. (Heck) Burrer in Hettinger, North Dakota.

Alan graduated from Hettinger High School in 1964. He served in the Army National Guard for a number of years. During his life, he worked as a gas station attendant, was employed at the American Colloid Plant in Gascoyne, North Dakota, and for the remainder worked as a ranch and farm hand near Prairie City, South Dakota. Alan was also talented as a mechanic.

He enjoyed playing the guitar with his brothers and friends. Alan's full brothers were Kent Burrer and Jerry Burrer. Alan's family consisted of half-sisters included Violet Week, Grace Martin, Mary Ann Perkins, Gertrude Preszler, Alma Foxley and Ida Kramer and his half-brothers included Freddy Burrer, Herbie Burrer, and Johnny Burrer. Alan is survived by his son, Erik Haugen, of Pierre, SD.

He will be missed by his cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
